It seems like only yesterday that those tentative discussions that finally lead to the funding and
formation of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) started, yet here we are, six years later.
"BEAM is the Hong Kong rating tool of choice at the moment but compared with international GB rating
tools, BEAM has fallen a long way behind LEED and Green Globes" Herbert said.

The reception at Central Plaza was attended by HKGBC members, and the Secretary for Development Mr Paul Chan was the honoured guest, with
the out-going HKGBC chairman Conrad Wong as the responder.
