In January 2019 HKSAR EPD published the new updated IAQ Certification Scheme for Offices and Public Places, download the new guide from http://www.iaq.gov.hk

Besides updating the IAQ parameters, a new criteria 'mould' has been added.

However, the mould assessment can only be described as simplistic, ANNEX 3 provides a visual checklist, the guide also provides some sample photographs, one photo stands out, it shows the typical pattern of dirt on an air grille (see photo above) not mould, which doesn't inspire confidence.

Common in Asia and Hong Kong, mould is a serious issue because it can impact the health and wellbeing of building occupants, and the source is often not investigated properly. Mould in air conditioned buildings PPT by John Herbert
